“Student Version – Plot Stamp Detected”
With many of the new features introduced with the latest release of AutoCAD, In the release of AutoCAD 2019, the official watermark has been reintroduced. The education watermark will ensure the genuine use of Autodesk® products under free education licenses. It will ensure that the students and educators also have access to all of the program features that are used by industry professionals globally.
The change applies to all learning licenses obtained by students and educators for AutoCAD 2019 and AutoCAD 2019 vertical programs in all languages.

Why do you see this in your drawings?
Produced by an Autodesk Educational Product
When using a version of AutoCAD 2019 that displays an education watermark to open a drawing that was created using a commercial license of AutoCAD, the following task dialogue is displayed:

Educational Watermark is displayed while printing or previewing the plot job in any of the drawing drawn in AutoCAD 2019 licensed by students and educators. For the products that are authorized by educational institutions in multi-user network, the plot stamp is not displayed.
Most of the AutoCAD 2019 products will show the watermark, and it will show in other programs that use AutoCAD drawings comprising the “Produced by An Autodesk Student Version.”
Note: The warning dialog box only shows up in AutoCAD based programs.

Tip:
Sometimes this occurs in full versions of AutoCAD as well. The reason is; a block or some other drawing was copied from a file that was initiated from a product under student license.
This Spread behaviour is resolved in AutoCAD 2019 and corresponding products. If you copy, paste reference of insert objects of drawings from student version to a licensed version, it will not show in new drawings. Your current drawings won’t be affected by previous version drawings.
First of all, you must understand that This error is not a “Bug.” It’s a security measure, implemented by Autodesk to keep the educational version out of the professional offices. Anyone who opens a file from a professional office in the educational version and saves the file then moves the file to the Full version will be greeted with the plot stamp that you are receiving.

This happens mostly in the CAD versions that are downloaded for educational purpose, to obtain AutoDesk AutoCAD Certification. The educational version of AutoCAD is free to download and use, but this stamp will always appear on the drawings if you make a print.

Shall you remove the education watermark in AutoCAD 2019 and AutoCAD 2019 vertical products?
Simply telling; NO! you should not.
Removing or any action to circumvent the “Produced by An Autodesk Educational Product” or “Produced by An Autodesk Student Version” warning is not legal, and it is against EULA. Moreover, it is not permissible to use the student or instructor version for any marketable or commercial purposes. It is a violation of your license terms.
Free education licenses for AutoCAD 2019 and AutoCAD 2019 vertical products are available from the Autodesk Education Community.
There is no line of attack to get rid of it. The only way is to recreate the file in the Full Version of AutoCAD or restore a previous version before the educational usage. This problem also occurs in any Xrefs and blocks associated with this file. Upon placing the file back into the “office” system, all of the associated files will be “corrupted” with the educational stamp. Pass this info on, as this can and will screw up a file system in an office. The only choice afterward is restoring a previous version? If available, AutoDesk will tell you that they have no responsibility for the mess since the EULA for the educational version specifically says “not for commercial use”.
Caution
The more you play with this file with the DXFin/out features the better chance you have with messing up other files on your system.
Our guy on-site asks me how to remove “Produced by an Autodesk Educational Product” on his drawing. The Autodesk stamp is seen on all sides of the drawing which usually appears when you are using Autodesk Educational Product.
The thing is he is not using the educational release; he is using a licensed one, so this plot stamp should not be present in his drawing.
How to fix this issue?
Before we procede, let me tell you that this procedure is applicable and successful only if you follow the following steps in a licensed package of AutoCAD, not in a student version.
What should he do then, to remove the plot stamp “Produced by an Autodesk Educational Product“?
How to remove for an older affected drawing
For earlier version, Autodesk actually gave us the answer in their marketing where they say that blocks made from a student file won’t carry the watermark. So, use Wblock to export the drawing, and it should be removed. But again, telling this is to make your affected files safer, not for commercial use.
It is straightforward and easy, Follow these steps:
- Open the affected drawing
- Type Audit in the command line
- Enter “Y” when asked (Fix any errors detected? [Yes/No] <N>:) in the command line. This will fix any possible errors in the file
- Type QSAVE in the command prompt
- Run the PURGE command.
- Type DXFOUT in the command prompt
- Save the dxf in the place you can easily access
- Now, type DXFIN in the command prompt
- Look around the file you save in step 7
- Save the file as dwg.
DWG Convert command is also functional in some cases.
The “Produced by an Autodesk Educational Product” should be removed upon completion of the steps above. If the educational product plot stamp still appears, check the xref file and apply the measures I’ve mentioned above.
